GREENING HERMITAGE CAMPAIGN
“The GHC was launched in 2010 to make Hermitage more sustainable due to the inherent challenges of climate change and depletion of global resources. Within the village we want to encourage efficient use of resources which includes re-use, recycling, renewable energy and energy conservation. We also promote cycling, walking, growing your own food and have organised several swap-shops. Along with similar like-minded groups we are a member of the West Berkshire Green Exchange: http://www.wbge.org.uk/
Our campaign was launched with sponsorship from the UK Greening Campaign, Veolia and the North Wessex Downs AONB and it is now an integral part of the new Parish Plan for Hermitage.”
